Saw your prayer request; thought I'd drop by.
Seems like sometimes when people are searching for a religion, Christianity is the last place they look because of the widespread belief in it. Truth is, we are such a broken race. We search for things within us to lift us up, and we find nothing. We need an outside influence--we need Christ. We need to accept his gift of life. Some people are blessed enough to understand it easily or to grow up with it. Others need to spend some time researching--reading, going to church, finding people to help them understand. God gave us a free will, you know. It's true that He could control us, and sometimes He influences events in the world to help move people along, but He will NOT force you to accept Him. He's a loving and just God and wants for you to, with all your heart, accept His gift. I pray you'll find Him soon. Take action, my friend! Actively accept His love!
the only thing I am confused about is Jesus being God... God Created the earth... and why wouldn't God give up his son to be sacraficed..
When we can repent and repay by doing good?
I believe in God as creator of heaven in earth.. but I do not believe Jesus as the Son (God is higher and better than all) and nor do I believe that he could have walked earth because God is omnicent and all powerful

This is something that has confused a lot of people! :)
The way the Bible explains it is that there are three parts of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But together, they are all God. They are three different beings with three purposes, but at the same time one singular being. It's not like a "split personality" thing where different personalities inhabit one body, but rather separate beings entirely. We don't understand it because it doesn't line up with our earthly knowledge of physics, but it is true. In this way, God was both omniscient and powerful as you said, but also walked the earth as a human man: 100% God and 100% man at the same time. Amazing, huh? :D
Since God is so powerful, Jesus the Son is the one who acts on our behalf as an intermediary. The Holy Spirit is the being who Jesus left with his disciples when he left Earth after the resurrection. When one accepts Christ, the Spirit enters the heart and supports the believer. In this way, we're NEVER alone. :)
God sent us His Son because we needed someone to take away our sin. Before Jesus, the Jews used to go to the temple to make sacrifices of perfect animals to atone for sins. Jesus was the ultimate, most perfect and holy person there ever was--what a sacrifice to make! The thing is, we as humans are so small compared to God. What could we ever do to "repay" the mercy that He's shown us?
The truth is, there's nothing we can do, no payment big enough that we can give to "make things right." What we can do is accept God's love and Jesus' gift to us by letting Him into our lives, handing Him the reins! And this really freaks some people out, because we humans are obsessed with debts and repaying goodness...God just wants us to do our best to live our lives the way Jesus lived his. We constantly screw up, but He's constantly there for us to forgive even the greatest wrong if we're truly repentant. That's the amazing part! His mercy has absolutely no bounds! Some of the greatest people in the Bible were terrible people to start out with, and then they were shown the mercy of Christ. Only when we accept His love can our lives be changed.
I hope that clears things up a bit! You can always read up on it--the Bible is truly God's letters to us through his people. Whenever I'm trying to learn about something specific, I check out Blue Letter Bible or BibleGateway, two great websites that have all kinds of translations of the Bible free online!
God Bless, I hope your journey for truth continues,
A.S.

Thanks :)
But why would God the creator... walk earth? And why would we have original sin? - God that is all knowing would have known that they would have sinned.... Why cant God forgive our sins based on our Actions and Following His commandments.?Because I'm kind of on the edge of Christianity and Islam. It just confuses me to no end. I'd never go back to Atheism and Buddhism, but I am so confused on all this stuff. Growing up with parents and family of the unreligious sorts... It puts me back so far. can you help me???? send me a note at =DreadHead309 okay?
